Network Marketing Tip: Be The Third Little Pig!

Let’s think here… What is the goal of every Network Marketing Tip? Well, you and I both know that it is to generate more leads and put more money in your pocket – Right?

But how do you accomplish that?

So far you’ve joined an MLM company and you attended your first corporate function, got all pumped up, and you went home and started making your list of friends and family.  You’re attending all of your companies traditional marketing training and you are dropping your new business cards everywhere you go, you harass people in line at the grocery and even try to get your kids school teacher to join this amazing opportunity you’ve found.

But for some reason, you’ve gone through all of your ‘warm’ leads and all you see at the bottom of your pockets is blue lint and no dollars!

Well, have you really considered what you are selling? Really?

And you say, “Bruce, we have 30 different products – that’s what I am selling.”

But let’s step back for just a minute and think about that. Yes you do have thirty products but is that really what you are selling? Think about what the other person is buying or investing in. Think about when you got started in your business – what was the number one factor in your decision?

This brings me to the story of the Three Little Pigs:

As we all know the First Little Pig built his house from straw. He had just joined his own little MLM and he was promoting their products right and left from his home. He worked really hard, but at the end of the day when the Big Bad Wolf came knocking…

“Knock, knock” and “POOF”!

All it took was a strong blow from the wolf to topple his home.

Then, that same day, his MLM company called him and they went out of business! He quickly realized that promoting their products first was like living in a straw house and as soon as they went out of business, he was out of business too – immediately. He realized he had no control over his future and ran scared and penniless to his second brother’s house.

The Second Little Pig opens the door and welcomes his first brother into his home made of sticks. Feeling secure the Second Little Pig shares his new MLM with his first brother.  He tells him how great it is and all about the vacations he is going to go on and about all of the endless buffets that will be at their conferences and ooh la la.

He pulls out his white board and shows him exactly how he’s going to get rich by sponsoring all the other piglets he works with. The Second Little Pig is working so hard to sell his first brother on the “Dream”, but he’s not buying it. It’s all hype and after living in a house of straw, he’s a little weary of all the smoke and mirrors of this “Dream” his brother’s selling him. (Sounds like the guy that sold him his house of straw!) The Second Little Pig realizes it might be easier to sell ice to an Eskimo than to sell little pigs on the “Dream” and quits his MLM.

Then… “Knock, knock”

“POOOOF”, it’s the Big Bad Wolf again and down goes the house of sticks. And the first two brothers run to Third Little Pig’s house!

As they arrive at their brother’s home made of bricks, they notice how well it is built. The time and effort that went into it’s foundation and final construction. Their brother greets them as he’s just about to jump on his computer to attend a training webinar training for the night with some other team members. The first two brothers just sit and listen and can’t believe what they are hearing – NOTHING! Well nothing about their third brother’s MLM company. He’s just helping people with advice and answering their questions.

Then… “Knock, knock”

“POOOOOOF”, “POOOOF”, “Pooof”, “Puh…” Hah!! The Big Bad Wolf has met his match and leaves in frustration, because the foundation and house of bricks are too much for him! The Third Little Pig has defeated the wolf and never ever got up out of his chair!

All the while, undisturbed inside…

The Third Little Pig’s webinar ends and the three brothers are sitting around having a snack when the phone rings… “Hi, Third Little Pig, can you tell me a little bit more about that attraction marketing you were talking about and by the way… what business you are in? You were so helpful tonight, but never mentioned it and I’d like to learn more about what you do and how you do it.” The first two brothers are shocked! And when the Third Little Pig gets off the phone, the others say “That has never happened to us! We cold call non-stop and only talk to people who don’t want to talk to us – it’s awful and it doesn’t work!”

Then the Third Little Pig lets them in on his secret.  He says “Here is the number one Network Marketing Tip for you that will forever change your success and put you in a position of personal power and free you from the constraints of any MLM you may join.”

The brothers interrupt “But you aren’t selling anything, how can we do that?”

Third Little Pig says “Aha, I am selling ME first, not my company, not any products and not any crazy dreams. Pigs like pigs they get along with and can relate to. They like pigs who are helpful and teach them how to be successful instead of trying to sell them something like a used car salesman. And here is the best part! You can do the exact same thing and have success beyond your wildest dreams, if you just provide value to other pigs first, build friendships and help other pigs achieve success – Your Success Will Follow.”

The End.

A few last final thoughts for you: If you are still struggling in your network marketing company, it is probably because of one of the two following reasons:

1. You flat out don’t have enough quality leads to talk to. (This is solved by first mastering your marketing skills and having a system in place to attract quality leads.)

2.  You are not calling your leads back. (Probably because it’s all cold calling and that just stinks – it will wear out even the toughest marketer in time. When you provide value first, people will want to talk with you.)

Network Marketing Tip: By leading with value, being yourself, and promoting yourself first you will attract quality leads and you’re going want to call them back. If your current marketing system is leaving you with less than desirable results, then maybe it’s time you found yourself a new system!

I was the first pig. I moved onto the second pig.  Now I am the Third Little Pig and it feels good.
